Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) refers to an approach which tries to combine the environmental, social and economic impacts of drainage. Across the North Sea region there are many examples of approaches and methods to promote SUDS, but there is a perceived need to discus how SUDS can handle the problem of using surface water and at the same time avoid risks of flooding.
