Since early 2009, sector networks as well as numerous regions from around the Baltic Sea have jointly worked within the project EcoRegion to improve sustainable development at a regional level.
The project, led by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, is a Baltic 21 Lighthouse Project as well as a flagship project of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region
